11 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BREAST LIFT SURGERY

A breast lift is a cosmetic surgery that involves removing excess skin and reshaping the breasts. The surgery involves tightening tissues, reshaping sagging breasts, and repositioning the nipples, which is why many people consider a breast lift St Louis procedure. A breast lift surgery is undertaken to obtain a well-defined shape rather than size.

There are 11 things you need to know about breast lift surgery, which are listed as follows:

    1.    A breast lift surgery is different from breast augmentation. Breast augmentation involves adding volume to your breasts, while breast lift surgery involves providing proper texture to the breasts.
    2.    The possibility of having drains: Most plastic surgeons do not use drains for breast lift surgery. Drains are almost never used in any cosmetic hospital. You do not have to worry about them, because drains are most probably not used in the treatment.
    3.    Your breasts will look larger than usual for a couple of weeks after the surgery. The added volume to your breast is due to the swelling caused by treatment.
    4.    You have to wear a surgical bra after completing the treatment. This bra will be comfortable and help in managing the swelling caused by the surgery. If the surgical bra is still not comfortable, you can seek medical consultation.
    5.    The falsehoods:
    6.    There is a rumour regarding cutting off the nipples during the surgery, which is completely false. The nipples are pushed upward with soft breast tissue. There is no cutting involved; only the mound gets elevated.
    7.    Breast lift surgery will not cause pain. A mastopexy is a well-defined procedure that is provided to most patients. This procedure is tolerable, and painkillers are advised for a few days.
    8.    You will not be capable of doing anything after the surgery, which is absolutely incorrect. You will be feeling okay right after getting the surgery. You would be brisk and walking right after the treatment.
    9.    You cannot lift your arms after the surgery, which is also another piece of misinformation regarding the surgery. There is nothing done on your arms, so it’s just a myth. You might feel heavy or tight immediately after the treatment. However, you can lift your arms.
    10.   No vitamins and alcohol post-treatment is partially true. You shouldn’t be consuming alcohol before and after the surgery. However, you can drink in moderation. With respect to vitamins, you should consult your doctor before taking them.
    11.   You need to sleep in an elevated position for the first few weeks, which is also misinformation. You can sleep in whichever position you like to sleep.
    12.   Experiencing shooting pain due to nerves fighting with implants is false information. There is no implant in your breast, so the pain is due to the swelling caused during the treatment.

    CONCLUSION

Breast lift surgery is a common cosmetic surgery that involves reshaping your breasts. There is multiple misinformation available online. It is advisable to consult a surgeon for any doubts.
